The Mangawhai Boating & Fishing Club was first established in 1966, and in 1998 affiliated to the NZBGFC (now the NZ Sport Fishing Council Inc). You can join the club, and benefit from cheaper boat ramp fees, and lots of member only fishing competitions. Cheaper entry to open fishing competitions as well. The easter comp provides 9 days to enter fish in any of the big fish categories judged on longest to the fork.

NEW PLYMOUTH BRASS MONKEY
The New Plymouth Sportfishing & Underwater Club was formed in 1995 as a result of the merging of the New Plymouth Underwater and the Taranaki Cruising and Sportfishing Clubs. The club is based at the Habourview Clubrooms on Oceanview Parade, New Plymouth, New Zealand. Round 4 of the annual Top Boat series takes place on May 31-Jun 1 2025.

WAIKATO NZ – THE BIG 4
We are based in Hamilton, Waikato and our club rooms are situated on the mighty Waikato River, New Zealand. We are affiliated with the New Zealand Sport Fishing Council (NZSFC) and the International Game Fish Association (I.G.F.A). The Big 4 targets the iconic species of the region across the last two weeks in April.
NZSFC YOUTH NATIONALS
The New Zealand Sport Fishing Council Inc (NZSFC), is a not for profit organisation originally founded in 1957 and incorporated on 3 March 1959, incorporation society number 223403. We currently have 50 affiliated member Clubs from the top of the North Island to the bottom of the South Island. The NZSFC Youth Nationals 2025 are just around the corner! This nationwide tournament, designed for junior anglers, runs from April 12th to April 27th, 2025, coinciding with the April school holidays.The tournament is a fantastic opportunity for kids under 18 to experience the thrill of fishing. With a structure similar to that of ‘The Nationals’, the event includes an all-tackle, measure-and-release format, and a points-based scoring system that encourages anglers to fish lighter line classes. Thanks to Daiwa NZ and Just Another Fisherman, there are some epic prizes up for grabs for the winning anglers!

The Marine Deals Ultimate Angler tournament runs from 1st February to 1st March across New Zealand targeting Snapper, Kingfish, Gurnard and Kahawai.
