The Alure Ladies Fishing Classic fosters a supportive community for women of all ages and skill levels, with a strong emphasis on camaraderie and sharing experiences through a dedicated smartphone app and social media. The event includes prizes, giveaways, and an awards presentation, with a focus on catch, photograph, and release (CP&R).
Framed by the stunning landscapes of the East Kimberley, the Recfishwest Apex Kununurra Barra Bash is back from 25–28 September. Now in its 27th year, this much-loved event has become a true celebration of barra fishing, community spirit, and outback adventure. In 2024, it drew more than 1,400 anglers from across WA and beyond, cementing its place as the State’s largest fishing competition.
Established in 1988, the Corroboree Park Challenge (CPC) has grown to become one of the Northern Territory’s most iconic family-friendly fishing events. We began Max’s Cast for a Cure Fishing Competition as a perfect way to honour Max’s life. He was such a smart and happy boy, he was always eager to get out on the boat and was determined to catch a bigger fish than dad. As Charlie Teo brought many more years of fishing and laughter to our little boy’s life, we thought this would be the best way to honour. Max’s life and to raise awareness of childhood brain cancer.

The Barra Nationals is an icon on the national fishing tournament scene. Currently the largest competition with 70 teams, 210 anglers registered to fish the iconic Daly River. The history of this tournament has regularly seen it at the forefront of innovation, marketing and how to have fun. In the industry it is generally regarded as a benchmark for fishing tournaments in Australia.
