NZSFC YOUTH NATIONALS 2026

The New Zealand Sport Fishing Council Inc (NZSFC), is a not for profit organisation originally founded in 1957 and incorporated on 3 March 1959, incorporation society number 223403. We currently have 50 affiliated member Clubs from the top of the North Island to the bottom of the South Island. The NZSFC Youth Nationals 2025 are just around the corner! This nationwide tournament, designed for junior anglers, runs from April 12th to April 27th, 2025, coinciding with the April school holidays.The tournament is a fantastic opportunity for kids under 18 to experience the thrill of fishing. With a structure similar to that of ‘The Nationals’, the event includes an all-tackle, measure-and-release format, and a points-based scoring system that encourages anglers to fish lighter line classes. Thanks to Daiwa NZ and Just Another Fisherman, there are some epic prizes up for grabs for the winning anglers!

NZ SPORT FISHING COUNCIL 2026 NATIONALS

The New Zealand Sport Fishing Nationals (NZSFC Nationals) is the country’s premier, week-long nationwide fishing tournament, typically held in late February. Anglers compete from their own boats in local waters for national titles, trophies, and club glory, covering species from marlin to tuna and sportfish.

NEW PLYMOUTH TOP BOAT ROUND 2 2026

The New Plymouth Sportfishing & Underwater Club was formed in 1995 as a result of the merging of the New Plymouth Underwater and the Taranaki Cruising and Sportfishing Clubs. The club is based at the Habourview Clubrooms on Oceanview Parade, New Plymouth, New Zealand. Round 2 of the annual Top Boat series takes place on January 3rd 2026.

TE ANAU MANAPOURI FISHING CLASSIC 2025

The Stabicraft Te Anau Manapouri Fishing Classic, held every Labour Weekend, is the perfect opportunity to soak up majestic views of Fiordland and the Te Anau Basin.

It really is a fishing competition for the whole family – adult, junior (12-17 years) and child (11 and under) anglers lining up to catch a fish.

NEW ZEALAND LUREMASTERS 2025

Built on a shared vision for a more sustainable and inclusive style of sport fishing, NZ Lure Masters was officially formed. We set out to provide an alternative to the traditional “catch and kill” competitions by promoting a measure-and-release format that respects and protects our fisheries.

Wahine o te Moana Competition

The Mangawhai Boating & Fishing Club was first established in 1966, and in 1998 affiliated to the NZBGFC (now the NZ Sport Fishing Council Inc). You can join the club, and benefit from cheaper boat ramp fees, and lots of member only fishing competitions. Cheaper entry to open fishing competitions as well. The easter comp provides 9 days to enter fish in any of the big fish categories judged on longest to the fork.

Welcome to the June and Final Round of the MANGAWHAI Boating and Fishing Club. This round is conducted across the month with fishing around the Mangawhai township, north of Auckland New Zealand.
