Get ready for one of the Gulf’s most exciting fishing events as the Karumba Fishing Club proudly presents the JS Sands Mackerel Smash Up!

Held on the 25th & 26th July 2026, this action-packed weekend will see anglers from near and far chasing Spanish mackerel, school mackerel, spotted mackerel, grey mackerel, queenfish, trevally and cobia in the pristine waters of the Gulf of Carpentaria.

With cash prizes, great competition, plenty of bragging rights and an awesome atmosphere, the Mackerel Smash Up is an event not to be missed. Whether you’re a seasoned fisho or just looking for a great weekend on the water with family and mates, there’s a category for everyone.
