2025 FITZROY BARRA BASH
The Fitzroy River Barra Bash is an annual, closed-team saltwater barramundi fishing competition held in Queensland’s Fitzroy River Net-Free Zone, focusing on the biggest and most metres of barramundi and king threadfin salmon. Hosted by the Frenchville Sports Club, the event encourages sustainable fishing with a catch-and-release policy using lures only, and includes a boat draw and prizes worth over $90,000.

Welcome to the third round of the King of the Dams Barramundi Fishing Tournament series hosted by Mackay Tournament Anglers. Qualifier 3 is held at Lake Teemburra located near the town of Pinnacle. Event is Teams of 2 with winners determined by best 3 fish total length combined in cm.

Lake Wallace hosts an annual “Gone Fishing Day,” with the most recent event occurring on Sunday, October 20, 2024, organized by Wallerawang CAS. The next official Gone Fishing Day is scheduled for Sunday, October 19, 2025, as part of a nationwide celebration of recreational fishing.

NRSFC Ladies Fishing Classic is a female only team fishing competition run by Nhulunbuy Regional. This is the largest women’s event in Australia with both Individual and Team awards available. This event is a points based event with best two fish per species per day.
