Event format is Teams of 2 with winners determined by best 5 fish each total length combined in cm, so a maximum of 10 fish.

The Fitzroy River Barra Bash is an annual, closed-team saltwater barramundi fishing competition held in Queensland’s Fitzroy River Net-Free Zone, focusing on the biggest and most metres of barramundi and king threadfin salmon. Hosted by the Frenchville Sports Club, the event encourages sustainable fishing with a catch-and-release policy using lures only, and includes a boat draw and prizes worth over $90,000.

To celebrate 25 years of the Stocked Impoundment Permit Scheme (SIPS), the Freshwater Fishing and Stocking Association of Queensland, with the support of Infofish and Fisheries Queensland, is holding a statewide fishing competition across all active SIPS dams and weirs. Welcome to the Barra Australian Open round of the ABT Barra Tour. The Barra Australian Open is a 3 night event hosted on LAKE AWOONGA near Gladstone,Central Queensland. This is a Teams event (teams of 2) with the winner determine by the best 5 Barramundi by Weight per day using a length weight curve.

The TGFC Barra Bash is an annual fishing tournament organized by the Townsville Game Fishing Club (TGFC) held in the Hinchinbrook Channel region of North Queensland. The event focuses on catching Barramundi and Threadfin Salmon, promoting sport and game fishing with a competitive yet fun atmosphere that attracts many teams and anglers from across the nation. 

The Southern Ocean Spectacular is a fishing competition held in Albany, Western Australia, organized by the Albany Boating and Fishing Club Inc.. This year’s event is scheduled for May 17, 2025. It features a sustainable format where competitors take photos of their fish on a brag mat in their boat, and can choose to release the fish alive. Prizes are awarded for the longest fish of each species, with a cash prize for the winning fish. 

Reeling in Excitement: Karumba Runoff Fishing Tournament 2025! Get ready, anglers! The Karumba Fishing Club proudly presents the Karumba Runoff Fishing Tournament, a thrilling 3-day event from April 25-27, 2025, celebrating the pristine waters of the Gulf of Carpentaria.

Nominations are open from 5pm to 9pm Friday and 7am to 9am Saturday at Albion Hotel. Fishing starts Saturday 6am through to Sunday 4pm and is allowed over more than 60 kilometres of the pristine Norman River. Weigh-in times 7am to 5pm Saturday and 7am to 4pm Sunday. Prizes in Junior and Open sections for Heaviest Barra, Salmon, Catfish And Other Scaled Fish.
