EDEN AMATEUR FISHING CLUB 47th MAJOR EVENT WRAP UP

The Eden Amateur Fishing Club (EAFC), located in Eden, New South Wales, is a vibrant community organization that caters to both offshore and onshore fishing enthusiasts. The club actively engages members of all ages through a variety of events and competitions throughout the year, fostering a family-friendly environment.

The club’s marquee event is its annual fishing competition which attracts competitors from across southern NSW and across the border in Victoria right across to Melbourne.  It’s 47th Edition was no exception to the high standards set by the club with 813 competitors reporting 676 fish across 22 species.   There were some big fish to be had, in the mens Greg Slater landed a 95.5 cm Dusky Flathead, Ben Holding scored a 112cm Mulloway and Brendan Chippendale landed a 153cm Tuna.  The event is all about community though and nearly all of the categories were filled, with plenty of hope for the future amongst the Junior Boys and Girls and event the under 6s got in on the act with a good 40 fish entered.

Congratulations to the volunteers at the Eden Amateur Fishing Club for putting on another great event – can’t wait for 2026.  This is one to bookmark if you want to get away early march.
